Build a cadre of next generation ocean leaders in China

Much of what becomes of the future of our global ocean will be dictated by actions of China. Their influence extends from shaping the status of apex predators like sharks to determining the future of less charismatic but equally important species like sea cucumbers.
China excels in many sectors of marine science like aquaculture and exploration. There is yet room however for growth in the area of marine conservation science.
What is needed is exchange program between emerging stars in Chinese marine science and countries that have knowledge to share about tools and practices for ocean conservation.
Training multiple generations of emerging ocean leaders in China and opening dialogues between the Chinese ocean science community and the community abroad will be a strategic investment in the long-term health of our oceans.
